Softer Fields [Group Show]
For their MFA candidacy work, graduate students Adrianna Touch, Corrie Thompson, Doug Land., and Fernando Alvarez present Softer Fields, an interdisciplinary selection of works that point towards balance in the midst of tension. These sculptures, drawings, paintings, and found objects dissect the zones between: identity and history, play and labor, fear and peace, truth and myth. Please explore the work of these artists as they traverse the fringes of Softer Fields. Softer Fields opens at Fort Worth Contemporary Arts Friday, January 22nd, and runs through February 20th, 2021.
In lieu of an opening reception, the artists will host online events coinciding with the exhibition.
This is the tête-à-tête that resulted from the show:
Doug Land. received his undergraduate degree from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2009. He is currently a MFA candidate in Sculpture. This current body of work is an exploration of the deeper meanings of life in the setting of The Garden.
